Resistance leadership calls for Shutdown on Sunday against civilian killings

SRINAGAR: Joint resistance leadership on Saturday called for a complete shutdown on Sunday against the use of force against civilians and killing of two civilians in Dialgam area in south Kashmir.

 

In a joint statement, the resistance leaders including Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik called for a valley-wide shutdown to protest the forces highhandedness.

The leaders said that Indian forces have unleashed a reign of terror in the state. “People of Kashmir particularly youth are being killed under a well-planned conspiracy”, they said.

 

Two civilians were killed and over two dozen others injured after forces opened fire on protesters near the site of a gunfight. Two militants, including Lashkar commander Bashir Kashkari were also killed in the firefight that raged in Breithi-Batpora village.(PTK)
