Ganderbal: The body of a woman who jumped into Wangat power canal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district today was fished out after two hours of hard efforts of Police rescue team and locals Monday, reports said.
Parveena Bano (24), wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan of Poshkar Wangar jumped into a power canal of upper Sind 2nd at Baranbugh Kangab couple of meters away from her residence.
As per reports the body was retrieved from canal one kilometre away from where she jumped into the canal.
The body of the deceased was taken to sub district hospital Kangan for postmortem.
Police has taken cognizance of the matter and started an investigation, said the official.
