Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad today threatened to file defamation suit against senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi within two days if he did not apologise for his baseless allegations that Ms Rama Devi, wife of then minister Brij Bihari Prasad had gifted plot of 13 acres to his son Tej Pratap Yadav in 1992.
It was perhaps for the first time when RJD Chief Lalu Prasad came out with documentary evidence to prove wrong one of the series of charges levelled by senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi against his family members about accepting plots as gift in lieu of favour from his party leaders and dubbed it as grossly misleading for people of Bihar and the country.
RJD chief, apparently elated over presenting documentary evidence to prove wrong the charges levelled by Mr Modi regarding plot gifted to Tej Pratap by Ms Rama Devi, threatened BJP leader to file defamation suit against him within two days, if failed to tender public apology.
Mr Prasad told media persons here that Mr Modi had been misleading the people by levelling baseless charges against him and his family members to defame them.
In fact, BJP was feeling shaky with growing mass base of RJD and Mr Modi was levelling all sorts of charges without any substantial evidence, just in frustration, he added. (UNI)
