Amarnath yatri dies, 15 others receive burn injuries after bus catches fire

SRINAGAR:  An Amarnath yatri died and 15 others received burn injuries when their bus caught fire after a gas cylinder exploded at Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway today, a police spokesperson said here tonight.
He said the bus coming from Uttar Pradesh (UP), carrying Amarnath pilgrims, caught fire after a gas cylinder exploded when they were reportedly preparing meals at Vesu in Qazigund.
He said 16 pilgrims, who were injured, were immediately rushed to Emergency Hospital Qazigund, where one of them died.
He said among the injured, seven were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag.
The deceased has been identified as Ganga Warm, resident of Ganesh Nagar in Andhra Pradesh, he added.    (UNI)
