Bhaderwah observes shutdown on Burhan anniversary
BHADERWAH: A shutdown was observed by majority community in Bhaderwah over support the shutdown called by joint resistance leadership on the first death anniversary of Burhan Wani and to express their resentment over the implementation of GST in J&K.The shutdown was observed on a call given by the Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah to express their solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Speaking to media persons President Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah Perviaz Hussain Sheikh lamented the government for killing of innocent civilians in Kashmir. ”We have given a shutdown call today to support the protest calendar of Hurriyat Conference especially on first anniversary of Burhan Wani and to support the protest of Kashmir traders over the implementation of GST,” he said.”We have also decided to observe July 8 as solidarity day with the people of Kashmir Valley and to let both union and state government know that we stand for the cause of Kashmir and dictatorship of RSS-backed leaders cannot be tolerated. We have appealed to observe peaceful bandh and will also protest to lodge our resentment,” Sheikh added.He appealed not to use bullets on the people of Kashmir and restrain from killing the innocent protestors. ”We would have lodged a similar protest if any innocent non-Muslim would have been killed or tortured. The coalition government has put humanity to shame in Kashmir valley,” he added.Anjuman-e-Islamia stated that Mehbooba Mufti government has become an agent of RSS whose live example is implementation of GST in J&K State. Reports of shutdown are also received from other parts of the Chenab valley.
