Accused violating court orders alleges family
SRINAGAR : In an alleged case of violence against woman, a minor girl was allegedly abducted by a man in 2015 who forcefully married her, now has begun violence against her.
Tabish who hails from Sumarbug New colony of Pantha Chowk Srinagar was 13 years old when Ashiq Ahmad Khan of Banihal Ramban abducted her and forced marriage on her.
Tabish told that her parents complained before police, but allegedly no action was taken. She said her ‘Nikah Nama’ was forged and she had not consent to marry him. Tabish said that she is 15 year old now, but Khan has fraudulently mentioned her age in Nikah papers as 2o year old.
She said that Khan had married two times before forcing married on her in 2015. Abish said Khan was threading her that he will kill her family members and throw acid on her if she don’t obey his wish. “He used to threaten me. He used to say that he will throw acid on me if i agitate against his will of marriage”, Tabish told.
She said, latter at Khan’s home, she was tortured, abused for dowry by Khan and his family members. “I was beaten, abused at Khan’s home. They demand dowry. They never allowed me to go back to my parents”, she said.
The parents of Tabish, after allegedly denied action by police moved to High Court for justice. “The court directs that Tabish should stay with her parents after finding forceful marriage. But the Khan’s family continues to harass her and her parents, demanding girl should handed over to them”, said sister of Tabish.
Tabish with tears in her eyes demand intervention of law enforcing agencies to deal strictly with Khan and his family. She said that they are violating court orders and are forcing her to continue marriage unwillingly.
Station House Officer (SHO), Nowgam, Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad said that the girl has been handed over to the family as per court directions. He said that the accused is behind bars.
However he said there was no complaint of abduction or forceful marriage nor any complaint of violence by the parents or girl herself in 2015. He said police recently received missing report, registered FIR and the girl was immediately recovered, handed over to the family. (PTK)
