Eyeing monsoon session of Parliament Rajnath, Sushma to brief opposition on China stand-off, J&K
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will brief leaders of opposition parties on the stand-off with China and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir today.
The move is to ensure smooth transactions of Parliamentary proceedings during the monsoon session beginning next week as the ruling dispensation is keen to take Opposition parties into confidence especially on controversial and sensitive issues.
Leaders of prominent opposition parties have been invited for the meeting where the two senior ministers will give a detailed presentation on the prevailing situation along the Sino-Indian border, including the standoff in Sikkim sector and on the overall law and order situation and socio-political conditions of Jammu and Kashmir.
China and India have been engaged in the standoff in the Doklam area near the Bhutan tri-junction for the past three weeks after a Chinese Army’s construction party attempted to build a road. (UNI)
