Amarnath: yatra progressing smoothly, over 2.27 lakh pay obeisance so far
SRINAGAR: Fresh batches of pilgrims, this morning, left Baltal and Pahalgam base camps for the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, where so far over 2.
27 lakh yatris had paid obeisance since the commencement of the 40-day-long pilgrims from June 29.
The weather is pleasant and pilgrimage is progressing smoothly, a yatra official said.
A fresh batch of 1141 yatris, including women and sadhus, left Bagwati Nagar, Jammu base camp for Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps under tight security arrangements.
He said yesterday 4,723 yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave. (UNI)
