Ganderbal: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma today laid foundation stone of Lift Irrigation Scheme and other PHE schemes were inaugurated as well in different areas of this central Kashmir,s district Ganderbal.
The proposal of Lift Irrigation Scheme was inaugurated laid foundation stone over at Waliwar area of Lar an estimated cost of Rs. 395 lacs.
Similarly, the schemes related to PHE were inaugurated in district, the foundation stone of PHE scheme was laid in Watlar area estimated cost of Rs 742 lacs and another water supply scheme was inaugurated in Gureaz colony Nunar in this central Kashmir.
Addressing an impressive public gathering on the occasion in Lar area of this central Kashmir, the Minister for PHE said the present Government is making all out efforts to provide adequate drinking water, and irrigation related to their fields and infrastructure to every village of the State for which number of programmes have been launched.
He said that the Prime Minister,s vision and dream for development of the Jammu and Kashmir would be carried forward with the same vigor and devotion and to take the benefit of different PHE, irrigation schemes, he said.
He said Central Government is providing liberal funding to J&K and it is the responsibility of the officers to make judicious and efficient use of available resources. He urged the officers to perform their duties with zeal and dedication, so that people are benefited to maximum.
Sham Lal also stressed upon the officers to put focus on public needs and redress their genuine problems on priority.
The Minister of PHE, I&FC responding to the demands of locals, the Minister said that Government was seriously considering the genuine demands of all areas. He said all such demands will be examined on the basis of set criteria by the Government and all deserving areas will get their due share.
Among others, MLA Ganderbal Mr Ishfaq Jabbar, MLA Nowshera, Deputy commissioner Ganderbal Mr Piyush Sangla, Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control, Executive Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sectoral Officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
