Zojjila tunnel talk of ladakh region, Haji anayat ali thanked narendra modi and mehboob mufti
KARGIL: The age old pending and long standing demand of the people of Ladakh one of the far-most and strategically important region of India came true when the tendering of 14 km Long Tunnel at Zojjila was allotted to IL & FS Transportation by National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
People were seen discussing the tendering process and allotment almost at every place, whether it be in Bus, Taxi, Shop, Market, Office, or at social media and are thanking the government for making the dream come true and are hoping for all wheatear connectivity within a decade.
Meanwhile Chairman J&K Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali congratulated the people of Ladakh on this historical day and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Nitin Gadkari Union Minster for Road and Transport and Nayeem Akhtar Minste for PWD J&K on behalf of the people of Ladakh in particular the people of Kargil.
He further told it was the initiatives taken by the coalition government of J&K and NDA government at the Center which cannot be forget by the people of Ladakh.
Haji Anayat Ali told that his motive behind joining politics is to make this dream of the people of Kargil make true and was behind this issue from the first day of the present Government and it came true with the vision of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the bold decision and promise of Nitin Gadkari which he made during his visit to Udhampur District with him.
He further told that Governments and leaders came and gone and always promised the people of Kargil on the name of Zojjila Tunnel and has rule for more than 40 to 50 years however the ruling coalition of government of BJP and PDP is always focused on the overall development of all the three regions of the State and Zojjila Tunnel is a big example of that commitment.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Tunnel Construction work at Zojjila Pass on Strategically Important Srinagar Leh Highway NH 1D was won by IL&FS Transportation with a lowest bid of Rs 4,899 Crore.
The whole Ladakh Region remains cutoff from rest of the country for more than four months during winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanches at Zojjila Pass.
