Srinagar: The premier institutions of Jammu and Kashmir, SKIMS, Soura, SKAUST, Public Service Commission, SSB and others have left scores of aspirants in lurch by delaying publishing final selection lists for various jobs for which they have already been interviewed.
Sources informed KNS that in last one year over one thousand posts were advertised by different departments or institutions of the state including SKAUST, High Court, PSC, SKIMS, Kashmir University and SSB.
However, none among the departments has made the selection list public leaving the aspirants awaiting for prolonged time.
Sources said that SKAUST has advertised 46 posts while High Court 279. “488 posts were advertised by PSC while SKIMS 94. KU and SSB have made 16 and 135 posts public respectively,” sources informed.
They said that the administration of all the departments or institutions has failed to finalise and publish the selection lists.
“Almost all the departments or institutes have done every formality while some among them have conducted the interviews as well but due to some unknown reasons, the selection lists of the candidates is not made public,” they added.
The aspirants who have applied for the posts and are waiting selection lists said that the delay is consuming their time. “We have been left to suffer as the authorities are playing delaying tactics,” said an aspirant who has applied in SKUAST.
The aspirants appealed the administration to make the final selection list public so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
The aspirants who have applied for the posts in Social Welfare department told KNS that the job advertisement was done in May 2013.
However, the process has been completed even at least 50 candidates were called for the interview as well but unfortunately no selection list has been made public so far, the aspirants said.
Meanwhile, a senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) minister cited 2016 unrest and the demise of former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed as reason behind the delay in making the lists of the aspirants public.
“The delay occurred due to the demise of our late leader Mufti Muhammad Sayeed as the government didn’t assume the charge for nearly two months following which the 2016 uprising took place here, which halted every development and progress for over six months,” the minister said.
He said that the issue has recently been raised in the government meeting following which the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti appointed Sareeta Chouhan (IAS) as Service Selection Board (SSB) chairperson who has been directed to resolve the issue at earliest.
“With other departments as well, the cases are being regularly pursued,” the minister told KNS. (KNS)
