Use of hi-tech gadgets, alert force prevented terrorists from disrupting Amarnath Yatra: IG CRPF
JAMMU: Inspector General CRPF, Jammu Sector Abhay Vir Chauhan today said that use of hi-tech gadgets and alert forces prevented terrorists from disrupting 40-day long Amarnath Yatra in Jammu sector.
‘’There were intelligence reports about a possibility of terror attacks but the terrorists could not succeed due to the alertness of the Army, CRPF, police and other agencies,’’ Mr Chauhan here told reporters after the conclusion of 40-day long Amarnath Yatra.
He said the government reposed faith in the force and gave it the added responsibility of securing the entire route from the Jammu based Bhagwati Nagar base camp to the base camps in Kashmir, adding, ‘’barring the July 16 road accident near Banihal in which 17 pilgrims died and 26 got injured, the yatra ended peacefully and it was because of the coordinated efforts of the security agencies.’’ (UNI)
