Srinagar: Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D Anbu today visited forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) and reviewed security situation in north Kashmir.
The visit to north Kashmir comes a day after Lt Gen Anbu, accompanied by Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen J S Sandhu, visited south Kashmir and took stock of preparations made by security forces to meet any challenge during counter-insurgency operations.
A Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said continuing with his visit to the Valley, Lt Gen Anbu accompanied by Lt Gen Sandhu, visited forward posts in north Kashmir today.
He said the Army Commander interacted with the troops on ground and commended them for the recent successes.
Complementing the troops for their dedication to duty and high standards of professionalism, the Army Commander asked them to continue with the strict vigil to thwart any nefarious designs of inimical elements.
He also reinforced the need to be prepared to effectively meet emerging security challenges.
