NIA, ED being used to cripple Kashmir business community: KEA

Srinagar: Alleging that raids by National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) were being used to cripple the business community in Kashmir, the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) threatened to launch an agitation if this was not stopped immediately.

Reacting sharply to the ongoing raids being conducted by the ED and the NIA on business community in Kashmir, the KEA chairman Haji Muhammad Yasin Khan said the government was using such agencies to systematically cripple Kashmir’s business community.

Mr Khan threatened to launch an agitation if the government fail to end to this conspiracy against the business community in the valley.

Terming the latest spell of raids on some leading business houses in Srinagar today as ploy, he said the government was pushing the Kashmir Inc towards the wall through witch-hunting.

“Enough is enough. We cannot see our rights being crippled through such psychological warfare. Let the New Delhi and the PDP-BJP government in the state be aware that if such repressive tactics are not immediately withdrawn, the business community of Kashmir will be left with no options but to come out on the streets for a decisive battle,” Mr Khan who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) said in a statement here this evening.

He said the raids on business community have proved beyond reasonable doubt that New Delhi and state government have a secret pact to dis-empower Kashmir Inc.
