Chenab valley shuts against ‘attempts’ to abrogate Article 35-A
DODA: A complete shutdown observed in various parts of the Chenab valley included Bhaderwah ,Doda , Kishtwar , Thatri and Gundoh against a plea in the Supreme Court seeking abrogation of Article 35-A which confers special rights on J&K’s permanent residents.The call for shutdown was given by Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah, Markazi Seerat Committee Doda, Anjuman Islamia Gandoh, Masjid Committee Thathri and Majlis-e-Shoura Kishtwar have also issued a bandh call, resulting in a complete shutdown in Chenab Valley by Muslim community against “assault” on state’s special status and “efforts” to abrogate Article 35-A. Shops, other business establishments and some private schools of Muslim community remained closed, however government schools and offices functioned normally and traffic plied on the roads as usual.Talking to this media person president Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh strongly criticized the central government led by BJP for making attempt to abrogation of Article 35-A and said questioning the special status of J&K will in fact put a question mark on the accession itself .
