Gorakhpur hospital tragedy: death toll rises to 35: Govt orders high-level probe
Gorakhpur: With death toll in the Baba Raghav Das Medical College hospital tragedy in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district touching 35 during the past three days, the Uttar Pradesh government has dispatched both the health ministers from Lucknow and ordered a high-level probe into the incident.
The politics over the issue heightened further in the city when opposition leaders from Delhi and Lucknow reached here today to assess the situation.
However, the officials, who first said that only seven children died as they were critical patient of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES), later confirmed 30 deaths during the past two days last night. However, later it was disclosed by the officials themselves that 60 children have died during the past five days. (UNI)
