Grenade blast leaves four forces personnel injured

LeT and HuM claim responsibility

BUDGAM: Suspected militants hurled a grenade on a Naka party resulting in the injuries of 4 Government forces personnel.

The grenade was hurled at Batapora Kanihama area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Police sources told CNS that two persons on a bike passed through a naka party and hurled a grenade. The grenade exploded with a bang leaving three Para-military troopers and a cop wounded.

The wounded who were shifted to hospital for treatment have been identified as Bhoop Singh, Reyaz Ahmed and Vijay Kumar of 181 Battalion CRPF. The injured local cop has been identified as Nazir Ahmed.

Government Forces launched search operation after the attack; however, no arrests were made.

Meanwhile, militant outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkat-ul-Mujhdeen claimed the responsibility of the attack. The LeT Chief Mehmood Shah and Spokesperson HuM, Hasan Askari appreciated the action of the militants. They said many Indian troopers either suffered injuries or died in the attack.  (CNS)
