Srinagar: Four rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain Hizb ul Mujahideen commander Yaseen Yatoo alias Mehmood Ghaznavi at his native Nagam village of Chadoora in Budgam district of central Kashmir on Monday.
An eye witness said that around twenty thousand people attended the funeral prayers which were held four times.
He said that mourners thronged from nearby and far-off villages of the district.
Ghaznavi, operational commander of the outfit, was killed along with two associates in a gunfight in Awneera village of Shopian yesterday.
Witnesses said that the authorities have put drones into service which are keeping a watch over the mourners.
A complete shutdown is being observed in the area to mourn the killing of Ghaznavi, one of the longest surviving militants in Kashmir.
