The damage of the water pipe has also created water shortage in main town. People alleged the leakage is happening since two months and blamed PHE department of being in deep slumber.
“They don’t pay any heed towards the damaged pipe line and the leakage that too in the heat of town”, said one of the local resident Mohammed Shafi Lara said.
Residents also said PHE department has failed to restore the damaged water pipe lines in main chowk, Down town, Iqbal market, Chankhan and other areas of sopore town.
The transporters, shopkeepers, commuters and vendors in main chowk face problems when they pass the area due to a huge pothole created by the water leakage.
A major supply line recently bursted at main chowk area of Sopore and flooded the entire road stretch.
The Public Health Engineering (PHE), has failed to repair the leakages even as the matter was brought to its notice several times by local residents.
Meanwhile Executive engineer PHE Sopore, Mohammad shafi said the PHE department has pressed engineers and other manpower into the service to repair the damaged pipeline.
“We have already taken it into notice and all these damaged pipes will be restored soon”, Exen PHE Sopore said
