Midnight blast rocks Darjeeling town, no injury, no claim yet on causing explosion

Darjeeling: Panic struck in Darjeeling today with report of a powerful mid-night blast that rocked the entire Darjeeling town forcing the police to reinforce deployment of armed security forces and anxious people tuned in large number to inquire the incident.
However, there had been no injury to any people into the blast that happened around 0015 hours near the Old Super Market and Motor Stand area, the hub of Darjeeljng town.
Superintendent of Police, Darjeeling, Akhilesh Chaturvedi today confirmed the blast and said there had no loss of life or injury, however some of then shops have been damaged.
Eye witnesses said the blast happened near the Club Side area of Chowk Bazar, and many local people came out of their houses in panic.
The Fire Brigade, police and CRPF had also rushed to the spot immediately as to take account of the incidence. (UNI)
