Ganderbal: A joint team of the Indian Army, SOG and Jammu and Kashmir Police has seized arms and ammunition, including one AK-56 rifle and 2 magazines and 44 rounds during an search operation in Central Ganderbal forest.
As per the reports said that acting on information, a joint party of SOG Ganderbal and 24 RR launched a search operation in Chokinar Akhal forest area of Kangan in Ganderbal district in the wee hours of Monday morning. A hideout under a rock was busted during the operation, reports said.
“Arms and ammunition, including one AK-56 rifle, 02 magazines and 44 rounds were recovered,” said the official.
“In this regard, police has taken cognizance and an FIR has been registered in Police Station Kangan,” he said.
