Omar lauds Modi for ‘getting better of China’ in Dokalam standoff

Srinagar, Aug 29 : Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team for getting ‘the better of China’ in the Dokalam standoff, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said it is all the more remarkable because it was done without any chest thumping and bluster.

“India getting the better of China is all the more remarkable because it was done without any chest thumping & bluster. Kudos PM Modi and team,” Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Mr Abdullah said the return to status quo a victory for India and Mr Modi.
“But isn’t the return to status quo a victory for India & PM Modi? It was China that wanted to alter the ground position with the road work,” he said.

Troops of both the countries were locked in a standoff in Dokalam from the last two months after Indian Army stopped China from building a road in the disputed area.  (UNI)
