Ganderbal, Sep 12, 2017:-In order to resolve people’s grievance at their doorsteps District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla held first “public Darbar at Wakoora, here today.
SSP, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, District officers, representatives of Peoples Welfare Society Ganderbal and large number of local citizen participated.
Locals apprised officers regarding Public grievances being confronted by them and officers heard them patiently and then responded them in light of yearly targets fixed by respective departments. Public grievances were mainly related to road connectivities, Construction of link road and their macadamization, restoration/renovation and regulation of water supplies, renovation and maintenance of Power Supply, health Care, transportation facilities, irrigation facilities, provisions of food grain and other civic amenities.
Responding to the power supply complaints Executive Engineer PDD apprised Public Darbar that as many as 1200 electric poles have been erected in the area, damaged transformers have been replaced by fresh ones. The department accords priority to restore HT lines and LT lines. DPR’s for installation of street lights in areas of Dub, Butwina and other localities of Wakora are submitted to higher authorities for approval.
Macadamization of main road and link roads in Wakura area are being taken in hand shortly where as these works are executed in phases manners as per availability of funds and works are at different stages of DPR and tenders.
DDC enjoined engineers of Irrigation and Flood Control to prioritize renovation and cleanliness of Dub Canal and other Canal to boost agriculture and Horticulture sectors in the area. Besides awareness Camp of agriculture and horticulture be organized at Tehsil level.
Almost all old and rusted PHE pipes are being removed by fresh stock to improve water supply in the area, executive Engineers PHE apprised the Darbar.
Grievances regarding scale of sugar, matter have been taken up with Government for favourable decision. As far APL and BPL Categories are concerned, thorough scrutiny has been initiated and correct lists be published in near future.
As far as upgradation of schools in the areas matter has been referred to Government for favourable decision. Construction of fencing for Govt. Girls Middle School Butwina and other washroom facilities be provided soon
Addressing public darbar, DDC impressed upon locals to co-operate with officers in removing encroachments and extend helping hand in early execution of development schemes, so that their benefits reach to common man of the society.
