Srinagar: Two militants have been killed in a brief gunfight with government forces at Aribagh area of Kanipora in outskirt’s of Srinagar City on Thursday late afternoon.
Official sources told news agency GNS that a joint team of SOG Srinagar and army’s 55 RR cordoned off the Aribagh area following a specific input about the presence of militants.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the militants hiding in the area opened fire resultes into an encounter.
A police officer when contacted confirmed the incident told GNS that Two militants were killed in the gunfight and their outfit and identity are being ascertained. (GNS)
