Soldier killed, 3 injured in ceasefire violation along LoC in Keran Kupwara
Srinagar, Sep 20 : An army soldier was killed and three others were injured in a ‘sniper fire’ by Pakistan Rangers at Keran sector along the Line of Control in north Kashmir Kupwara district on Tuesday.
A senior police officer told news agency GNS that Pakistan Rangers in “violation of ceasefire” opened the sniper fire at 5/9 GR unit of the army near ‘Pimple post’ in Keran sector along the LoC. Four soldiers were injured and airlifted to army’s 92-base hospital at Badamibagh here, the officer said.
One of the injured identified as Rajesh Khatri was declared brought dead by the doctors who attended upon him at hospital, an army officer confirmed to GNS.
He said that army retaliated the fire and intermittent firing was going on in the area(GNS).
