Ganderbal, Oct 04:- To serve People at their doorsteps, the DDC Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today listened to issues of locals at a public grievances redressal camp under the banner “Aap ki Sarkar – Aap ki Dwar” held in Tehsil Kangan of District Ganderbal. A Large number of people projected their demands related to road connectivity, water supply, power infrastructure and other basic amenities.
SSP Ganderbal, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Additional District Development Commissioner, N.A Baba, SDM Kangan, ACR Ganderbal, District officers, and a huge gathering of local citizen of Kangan participated.
Most of the public demands were pertaining to the provision of safe drinking water supply, rational and speedy ration supply, removal of encroachments from various irrigation canals, de-silting of various canals, upgradation of link roads, unplugging of drains, power facility and proper upkeep of transformers, transportation facility, decongestion of the town, beautification and sanitation of the town, proper manning of various SDHs and PHCs, construction of culverts and flood protection bunds.
The Deputy Commissioner, on the occasion, gave a patient hearing to the public grievances & issued on spot directions to concerned officers for their immediate redressal. He said District Administration wants to give people a feel of good governance for which every department has to put in extra efforts. The Deputy Commissioner assured the time-bound redressal of grievances and directed the concerned officers to furnish the action taken report within a week.
Responding to the power supply complaints Executive Engineer PDD apprised Public Darbar that the department accords priority to restore HT lines and LT lines. DPR’s for repair of street lights in areas of Kangan will be submitted to higher authorities for approval.
Macadamization of main road and link roads in Kangan area are being taken in hand shortly where as these works are executed in phases manners as per availability of funds and works are at different stages of DPR and tenders.
DDC enjoined engineers of Irrigation and Flood Control to prioritize renovation and cleanliness of Baba Canal and other Canal to boost agriculture and Horticulture sectors in the area. Besides awareness Camp of agriculture and horticulture be organized at Tehsil level.
Addressing public darbar, DDC impressed upon locals to co-operate with officers in removing encroachments and extend helping hand in early execution of development schemes, so that their benefits reach to common man of the society.
