BARAMULLA: In connection with the election of Cooperatives societies to be conducted tentatively on 11 October 2017, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for its smooth conduct. Meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Qasim Wani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Baba, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Audit Officer, representatives of cooperative department, and other functionary of election department.
Pertinent to mention that a Managing Body will be elected through the election which will comprise of various office bearers for the proper and smooth functioning of the cooperative societies.
A thorough discussion regarding the appointment of Returning and Assistant Returning Officers, preparation of electoral rolls, establishment of polling staff and other necessary requirements was held during the meeting. Moreover the DC emphasized upon the concerned to work with zeal and vigor so that the election is conducted on the scheduled date. He also sought cooperation among various departments involved in the election process and stressed for holding the election in a free and transparent manner.
