PDP committed for relentless struggle to uphold diginity in the state : Lone
SRINAGAR: Reiterating Party’s commitment for relentless struggle to uphold dignity , mutual brotherhood and above all the level plain field for all in granting the political space to people Senior Party leader and Minister for Agriculture Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura has said that PDP has undergone testing times and adversaries have left no stone unturned in an ugly showdown.
“But the party leadership exhibited both restraint and confidence is showing its hands clean. Like Mufti Mohmmad Syed who wrote a golden period of development and political emanicipation in the state from 2002 to 2005, his successor Ms. Mehbooba Mufti will also prove his adversaries wrong through her sincerity of purpose and urge for struggle”, he said.
He was addressing the party workers convention today at Budgam. District President Budgam Muntazir Mohiudin, Saifudin Bhat MLC, Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo Vice Chairman J&K Cements,Senior Leader Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani, State Secretary Ab Hamid Kosheen, Nazir Ahmad Khan , Ali Mohammad Wani besides other were also present on this occasion
Hanjura said that PDP has a track record of pursuing the policy of dialogue for resolution of all issues and Mufti Mohmmad Syed changed the discourse in the sub-continent when it witnessed spell of initiatives from 2002 to 2005 for friendship between India and Pakistan and building of mutual trust at peoples level through various exchanges like opening of closed routes , mutual trade and ceasefire on borders.
He said late Mufti Sayeed developed an alternative narrative in the State and provide balm to the wounds of people with the launch of PDP and subsequently the government led by him in 2002 succeeded to a large extent in that. He said it was for the first time that the discourse in the State got changed to an extent that some of the monumental confidence building measures were taken to assuage the feeling of the people.
Party General Secretary Qazi Mohammad Afzal while referring to the recent incidents of braid chopping in the valley said that Entire society owes it to women as a whole that it rises against any kind of coercion committed against them and Peoples Democratic Party sees the braid chopping incidents as a direct attack on Kashmiri ethos and a brazen attempt to undermine universal culture of respect for womanhood.
He also made an appeal to remain cautious against a negative wisper campaign arrived at making braid chopping as a basis for getting the society at the brink of compound confusion which can ultimately blow truth and reality.
Qazi said it does not benefit any ethos to humiliate women and bring entire women hood to shame, will have horrible results. He said Kashmir society will lose its moral base and will make it shallow of any respectable culture or sustainable content. This he added, will be at our own peril.
