Man shot dead in Kaithal park
Kaithal, Oct 18 : A man was allegedly shot dead in local Jawahar park, where he was sitting along with his wife and child on Wednesday.
According to reports, the park watchman tried to intervene but he was thrashed by the assailants.
The victim died on the spot and his wife fell unconscious after this incident. However prior to it, she reportedly told those present that her family members could be behind this attack.
After getting information, the team of local police and CIA rushed to the spot but the assailants managed to flee from the spot before arrival of police. The police teams were making efforts to nab the assailants.
According to information, Balwinder of Koel village in Kaithal and Pooja of Dindoli village in Jind district fell in love with each other and had tied nuptial knots about three years ago against the wishes of girl’s family.
The couple along with two-year-old son had come to Kaithal town to make Diwali festival related shopping. They along with their child were sitting in the park when the two armed masked assailants opened fire on Balwinder and injured him seriously.
Some people reportedly chased the fleeing assailants but the assailants escaped. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to the injuries.
It seemed that the assailants had been keeping watch over the movements of the couple and as they got an opportunity they attacked Balwinder.
Police handed over the body of deceased to his kin after post mortem.
On a complaint, police has registered a case under section 302 IPC and started investigation.
