Jammu-Doda Helicopter service commence

DODA,OCT 24:  The much awaited Jammu-Doda chopper service started from here thus providing sigh of relief to passengers especially in harsh weather conditions. Member Legislative Assembly Doda Shakti Raj Parihar boarded the first flight after flagging off the service. “The flight will operate from Doda to Jammu for two days in a week ,” MLA Doda informed and said that Pawan Hans is the service provider, adding, “genuine fare Rs 2500 is fixed for per passenger.”He said the helicopter shall operate twice a week every Tuesday and Friday and interested persons can get their tickets booked one day prior to the scheduled flight from Tehsil office Doda. The one way fare has been fixed at Rs 2500.He also informed that four passengers Hashim Din Mir s/o Ahmed Ullah Mir , Tanveer Ahmed Mir s/o Hashim Din Mir R/o Barthii Gandoh , Nazakat Ali s/o Wali Mohd R/o Soti and Baber Hussain s/o Azim Sheikh R/o Ganika Doda shall travel from Doda to Jammu via Pawan Hans helicopter service in this inaugural passenger flight. Pertinent to mention here that Doda is one of the remotest districts of Jammu and Kashmir and remains cut off due to snowfall and landslide triggered in monsoon season.The persons flying from Jammu to Doda can get tickets from the office of Deputy Director Tourism, Residency Road, Jammu, who is Nodal Officer for Pawan Hans Services.
