Security threat forces emergency landing of Delhi-bound flight in Ahmedabad

New Delhi, Oct 30: A Jet Airways flight, which took off from Mumbai in the wee hours of Monday, was diverted to Ahmedabad, after a specific security threat was detected onboard.
According to an official Spokesperson of the airline, Boeing 737-900, which started from Mumbai at 0255 hrs, had to make an emergency landing in the state capital of election-bound Gujarat at around 0345 hrs, due to security reasons.
All 115 passengers and seven crew members were safely deplaned and screened, while the aircraft was parked at a remote bay, said the official, adding that security agencies were looking into the matter.
The flight was to land in the national capital at 0505 hrs.
