37 children escape safely as school bus catches fire
New Delhi, Oct 31 : A Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central School) bus caught fire on Tuesday at 1000 hrs at the Ring Road near Dhaula Kuan in the national capital, the Fire Department said.
However, the 37 school children who were on board the bus — belonging to the KV Naraina — were safely de-boarded before the blaze could spread all over the bus, as the driver acted on time and evaded any mishap that could have resulted in harm to the children.
The Fire Department soon pressed into service three of its fire tenders that extinguished the fire by 1120 hrs, the fire official said.
The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, the Fire Department said.
