BJP leader seeks NIA probe into Cong leaders- Pak officials meeting
New Delhi, Dec 14: Terming the meeting of senior Congress leaders with Pakistani officials as an “anti-national activity”, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Supreme Court advocate Ajay Agrawal has requested the National Investigative Agency (NIA) to register an FIR against the Congress leaders and others who attended the meeting.
In a letter to the NIA, the BJP leader said derogatory utterances of the senior Congress leader and former minister Mani Shankar Aiyar against the Prime Minister after the meeting was like inciting hatred towards an elected government and as such the persons involved in the conspiracy should be booked under section 124 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (Sedition).
Agrawal, in his letter, has stated it appeared the meeting was held to destabilise the ruling government and affect the ongoing Gujarat Assembly elections as the very next day Congress leaders and the host of the meeting Mani Shankar Aiyar levelled ‘Neech Aadmi’ remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
