Its duty of country to see people of J&K are taken out of present situation: Mehbooba
Panaji, Dec 16: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that it was duty of the country to see that people of Jammu and Kashmir were taken out the present situation.
At an interactive programme at “India Ideas Conclave” that got underway here on Friday, she said,’ We are in a helpless situation. What can be done? Who will save us from this trouble.’
‘Somedays back I called the pellet victims and really it was heartbreaking when I saw some of them… some have lost both eyes. Now a 14-year-old children, who were 13-year-old last year, what do they know. How does he know why I am pelting a stone, because it is in the rush of things you know. And I saw both their eyes are gone. I was wanting to give them some kind of rehabilitation. Though I tried to help them financially, but you cannot rehabillitate a 14-year-old child, you can just try to give them some education, you cannot give him a job at this point of time. So, it is very sad and I think it is the duty of our country to see that J&K people are taken out of this present situation,’ she said.
