Militant hideout busted, arms, ammunition recovered in Hajin
Bandipora:Police on Monday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Chandergair village of Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A source said that a cordon-and-search-operation was launched by a joint team of forces around 10:30 pm last night.
The operation was launched on the on the disclosure of a youth, namely Rayees Ahmad Baba, a resident of Bon-Mohalla Asham, who was arrested from Shopian by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police.
“During the search operation, forces recovered arms and ammunition from the cow shed of Ab Rehman Parrey, son of Muhammad Anwar Parrey, a resident of Chandergeer Hajin,” he said.
He said that six militants, including the nephew of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, and an IAF GARUD commando were killed in a gunfight that erupted in the house of same owner.
