Hit and Run case: Family of deceased stages protest, alleges police for ‘no concern’

SRINAGAR: Relatives and family members of deceased Mohd Rafiq Qazi, 58 year old stages protest at press enclave in Srinagar today against police for not nabbing the culprits involved in hit and run case.

The deceased is resident of Iqbal colony HMT Zainakote Srinagar who allegedly was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle on 20/01/2018 at 8:45 AM outside his home.

Protesting family members of Qazi said that the police filed an FIR No 24/018, Sections 227- 304 in the case at police station Parimpora, however alleged that police seems least interested to nab the accused.

They said that if police could have been serious they would easily find out the exact details of incident through CCTV footage installed at the spot of hit and run.

Sadaquat Rafiq Qazi, son of deceased alleged that police officials are forcing them to get the postmortem report before they could initiate any investigation. “We have come to know that he was hit by an army vehicle adding that that is perhaps police is not showing concern to investigate the case”, he added.

He said that the deceased is survived by two daughters and a son who are unmarried. He said that he was the only bread earner of the family.
