Property worth lakhs destroyed in Kupwara fire
Baramulla, Feb 7: Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in a devastating fire incident in the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir, official sources said on Wednesday.
They said fire broke out in a house at Arampora, Kupwara, late last night.
However, before a fire tender from the nearby area could reach the spot, the blaze spread to two more houses, they said.
Later, fire tenders from different parts of the district were rushed to control the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.
Three houses and other household goods were reduced to ashes, they said, adding that no one was injured.
