Shopian firing: SC to hear plea of Major Kumar’s father on Feb 12
New Delhi, Feb 9 : The Supreme Court on Friday said, it would hear on February 12, Monday, the plea filed by Lt Col Karamveer Singh, the father of Major Aditya Kumar, seeking quashing of the FIR (First Information Report) registered against his son in the alleged Shopian firing incident case.
A three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud, said, we would hear the petition of Lt Col Karamveer Singh on February 12, Monday.
Lt Col Karamveer Singh, a Kargil war veteran, had moved the apex court against the FIR lodged by the Jammu and Kashmir Police against his son Major Aditya Kumar in Shopian firing incident in which two civilian died.
