Noora Hospital organised cycling Expedition from Noora Hospital to SRM Welkin Sopore

Srinagar (KPS): Continuing its corporate Social Responsibility programs, Noora Hospital, which has in past organised many events for society, conducted a Cycling Expedition on Sunday in collaboration with J&K mountain Biking Assco. and Damna Adventures.

The 40 kilometer expedition started from Noora Hospital, HMT Srinagar and finished at Sopore Town.

More than 75 riders took part in the expedition that reached Sopore via Pattan and Sangrama.

At the culmination of the event, prizes and certificates were distributed to the riders at SRM Welkin Sopore. A large gathering of people of Sopore town including various dignitaries witnessed the concluding event.

Manzoor Ahmad Wagay Managing Director, Noora Hospital said this initiative is part of their commitment to promote wellness and encouraging healthy lifestyles in Kashmir.

The first session for ‘Cycle for Health’ was be all about ‘Pedal For a Healthy Heart’.

Highlighting the benefits of cycling, MD Noora Hospitals said this sport is a fun and healthy way to get whole family involved in exercise to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease which is the leading cause of death in the World.

Speaking on the Occasion, Mr. Danish UL Islam, Manager Business Relations (Noora Hospital) said, “As we all are aware that Noora Hospital has been on forefront in delivering its services, both professional and social. We have been focussing more on the social development as we perceive that this is our moral responsibility to return every bit back to to the society, more than what we have taken.
Continuing the legacy, this cycling Expedition we conducted was all focussed to promote health, zeal and vigour among the youth. Indeed, such events are need of the hour for us to give the youth a platform to focus more on productive activities which can benefit them in the wholesome.
It won’t be out of place to mention that we would continue to promote talent and support our people wherever possible.

Dr. Hamed Bashir, Director Cath lab (Noora Hospital) highlighted the health benefits of the Cycling at the culmination of the event.

Hamid Aziz top ultra-marthon runner, 87 year old veteran cyclist Ghulam Rasool, international adventure racer Umer Nabi, Dr. Sharik Mosoodi Renowned Endocrinologist, Gh.Rasool Kawa UCI Level 1 coach, Riyaz Wani swimming and mountain biking expert, Bashir Damna MD Damna Adventures also take part in the event.
