Prof Malik takes over as DSW, BGSB university
Prof G M Malik has taken over as Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri.
Prof Malik is also Dean school of education, Islamic studies and languages at the varsity.
Prof Malik holds the distinction of being a renowned academician and an able administrator with various academic and administrative achievements to his credit.
A doctorate in education from Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi, Prof Malik has earlier served the University of Kashmir as Dean and head faculty of education; Head of Psychology Department; Director State Resource Centre; Director Life-long learning; Director Satellite campus Kupwara and various other positions.
He has been a member/secretary of many prestigious associations including the Board of Research for Studies JNU, Society for Age Concerned, Faculty Committee JMI, College Development Council, National Forum for State Resource Centres, Board of Studies AMU, Indian Institute of Public Administration, etc.
With about 100 research papers, including several in high-impact international journals, Prof Malik has, as a research mentor, guided many M Phil and PhD scholars to produce publications in noted journals.
On taking over as DSW, Prof Malik assured students the best possible support within the available resources.
He said that DSW office would coordinate and arrange the disbursement of all financial aids, stipends and scholarships to the students.
“My primary focus will be to arrange career counseling and guidance facilities to the students, besides that will also promote the students’ participation in co-curricular and social activities,” Prof Malik said.
Meanwhile, all the administrative and academic staff representatives of the varsity congratulated Prof Malik on taking over as dean students welfare.
