Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party Wednesday clarified that one of its party leaders met Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in personal capacity and it has nothing to do with party.
Spokesperson PDP, Rafi Ahmed Mir told news agency CNS that Engineer Nazir Itoo didn’t meet Mirwaiz as party leader but his meeting to him was in personal capacity.
“Party has nothing to do with it and it is not an issue at all,” Mir added.
Pertinently, PDP senior leader Nazir Ahmed Itoo had met Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday and he had later clarified that it was his personal meeting after Mirwaiz claimed that he was unaware of the fact that Itoo belonged to PDP. “I respect Mirwaiz Umar Farooq because he is our religious preacher and deserves respect. There was no mixture of politics in it,” Itoo had said.
