Omar criticize PDP-Cong for disowning Patel killed by gunmen
Srinagar: The working president of the opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah on Wednesday criticized ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Congress for disowning Ghulam Navi Patel, who was killed by gunmen in south Kashmir district of Pulwama this afternoon.
Condemning the killing of Patel, the PDP described him as Congress leader while Congress said he (Patel) was an activist of PDP.
Patel had recently returned from Jammu and was shot dead by gunmen at Rajpora in Pulwama district.
Police spokesman in a statement said militants attacked a civilian vehicle in which Patel was killed and his two Special Police Officers (SPOs) were injured.
Immediately after the incident chief minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing of Congress leader Patel.
Congress also condemned the killing saying he was a PDP worker.
After Patel was disowned by both PDP and Congress, Omar in a tweet said “just call him NC worker so his death is not in vain”.
