KNPL Day 3: Ghat Warriors, Friends Motors emerge victorious
SRINAGAR: Ghat Warriors and Friends Motors Narbal emerged as victorious after exceptional performances in the third day matches of ongoing Kashmir Narbal Premier League (KNPL).
In the first match of the day, Ghat Warriors was against Bazar Badshahs at Narbal cricket ground here.
Bazar Badshahs won the toss and elected to bat first. The team put 146 runs on board in allotted 20 overs. Showket Ahmad with 54 runs and JD with 21 runs were the notable scorers for the Bazar Badshahs.
For Ghat Warriors, Shabir Ahmad took 2 wickets for 28 runs in four overs.
In reply, Ghat Warriors finished the game with style and won by 6 wickets. Muhammad Junaid was highest scorer with quick 42 runs and was adjudged as man of the match.
In second match of the day, Friends Motors was against Kashmir Lions Narbal.
Friends Motors Narbal won the toss and elected to bat first. The team was restricted by Kashmir Lions bowlers on 129 runs. The highest scorer for them was Muneer Wani (Shahi Jahan) with 31 runs. For Kashmir Lions, Nazir Tiger took 3 wickets and Waseem Raza 2 wickets.
In reply, the Kashmir Lions could not achieve the required target and loss the close tackle with only 3 runs. The highest scorer Muzamil Rashid with brilliant 64 runs could not help his team to win the game.
For Friends Motors, Abdul Qayoom got 3 wickets and was declared as man of the match.
The league is being organised by Cricket Association Narbal and sponsored by Sky Tyre Emporium, Celestial Buds School, Qadria Institute, Dawat Food Zone, Jehangir Bakery, Bhat Electricals, Raja Dhaba and NCC Narbal.
The KNPL management has decided that no matches will be played on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.
