Rahul to go for a trip to Kailash Mansarovar after Karnataka polls
New Delhi, Apr 29: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday sought permission from the party workers to go on a trip to Kailash Mansarovar after the completion of the Karnataka elections.
Soon after the end of his speech at the Jan Aaakrosh Rally at Ramlila Maidan , just when the event was being wrapped up, Rahul returned to the stage for a surprise announcement.
“I report to you. I work for you. So I felt I should share with you something that there in my heart. I want to seek permission from you.
A few days ago, I was travelling to Karnataka when the aircraft I was travelling in suddenly nosedived and plunged 8000 ft. That time, I remembered that I wanted to go to Kailash Mansarovar. So I want to seek a leave of 10-15 days, after elections in Karnataka are over, to go to Kailash Mansarovar,’Rahul said.
The proposed trip by Rahul is being seen as his thanksgiving to Lord Shiva over his surviving the mid air scare during his travel to Karnataka.
Rahul, who has been criticised for his visiting temples during his election tours and practising ‘soft Hindutva’ for electoral reasons, has said that he had always been visiting temples and was a Shiva devotee.(UNI)
