MLA Ganderbal lays foundation of Masjid Sharief at Ganderbal

Inaugrated Bharat Scout’s and Guides camp at Gulabagh

Ganderbal: MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar today laid foundation stone of Masjid Sharief at Industrial Area Duderhama in  Ganderbal here.

Present as a Chief Guest, MLA Ganderbal addressed the ceremony by enlightening the importance of Masjids in Islam. Also he encouraged the management behind the initiative of constructing a new masjid.

A week long Camp of Bharat Scouts and Guides was also today inaugurated by MLA Ganderbal Sheikh ishaq who is also the President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Ganderbal at Madri-e-Meharban School Gulabagh organised by  Bharat Scouts and Guides.

In his speech as Chief guest, Sheikh Ishfaq urged all the newly inducted young scouts and guides to follow the senior footsteps and stick to the motto ‘To Love, To Share and To Serve’. By helping yourself and your society, you will be definitely helping the nation, he added.

Stating that the tasks of the Scouts and Guides entailed personality development of the youth, the MLA encouraged them to render selfless service to the community. He also called upon the young Scouts and Guides to become ambassadors of peace and progress, stating that they can play vital role in reaching out to the needy and poor people of the society.

Ishfaq also suggested that they can take the lead role to ensure that welfare schemes/projects of the state and central governments reach the targeted beneficiaries.

Stating that the movement is playing an active and important role in shaping the character of the youth , he pointed out that the Scouts and Guides could contribute in strengthening communal harmony, brotherhood, secularism so that the State could march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity in peaceful atmosphere.

He expressed confidence that Scouts and Guides, who have taken pledge to help the people, would become better citizens and contribute to the growth of the society.

He also urged all the participants to spread the message that young boys and girls can enrol in the Scouts and Guides and trained themselves and live better life.

Scout’s from Ladakh and many other areas of the state are participating in the camp.

Ishfaq also thanked  Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal for providing office room at mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

ADC Ganderbal Shahnawaz Bukhari, SHO Zakura, ZEO Gulabagh, Officials of Bharat Scout’s and Guides, and Staff of the School  were also present on the occasion.

To listen to the demands and issues of the village Gulabagh of his constituency, Ishfaq held a public grievance camp at Gulabagh.

During the camp, MLA was apprised of various issues and problems by locals which include fencing of Graveyard, adequate power supply etc.

“I am aware of people’s developmental needs in the constituency and will try best to address them,” Ishfaq said. On the occasion MLA Ganderbal released Rs 4 lacs for fencing of Graveyard and 2.5 lacs for transformer out of his CDF.
