Srinagar, May 10 : As the employees of the Urban Local Bodies are on strike to protest for their demands, the State Trade Union leader and Urban Local Bodies Employees Association president, Manzoor Ahmad Pampori demanded the government to release their wages under the 7th pay commission recommendations.
Pampori told KNS that the though government has announced the 7th pay commission but the higher ups of the Directorate have adopted anti-employee policies and are not releasing their wages under the recommendations of 7th pay commission.
He said that the department must fulfill the demands of employees at an earliest.
Asked whether it was a day-long protest, Pampori informed that they will assemble in Srinagar’s Press Enclave on May 12 (Saturday) to press for their demands.
“We have appealed government to take notice of our demands. In case the government fails to fulfill our demands, they will prolong their protest,” he added.
