Students appeal police to return their seized cell-phones
Anantnag, May 12, : A number of students who have released after counseling Saturdayclaimed that they are yet to receive their seized cell phones from different police stations in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Pertinently, protests had erupted in most parts of Valley after the killing of militants in Shopian while police had arrested scores of students for protesting in Anantnag district.
These students were released after counseling, however, their cell phones were seized by police.
A group of students told news agency CNS that police have not handed over their cell phones to them.
“Our cell phones are lying at police station Saddar in Anantnag. Some students with well-to-do families received their cell phones but our phones are still with police,” the students said and appealed DIG South Kashmir Range to look into the matter.
Despite repeated attempts, DIG, SK Range could not be contacted. (CNS)
