Sterlite row : Security tightened at Rajini’s residence

Chennai, May 31 : A day after his angry remarks that anti-socials infiltrated into anti-sterlite protests in Tuticorin in which 13 people were killed in police firing, security has been tightened at the residence of actor Rajinikanth in the city on Thursday.
As some fringe outfits announced that they would picket his Poes Garden residence demanding an apology for branding the Anti-Sterlite protestors as anti-socials, more than 200 police personnel were deployed on security duty.
Public were not allowed to see his residence and the roads leading to his residence were heavily barricaded. Even his fans were not allowed to visit his residence.
Vehicles entering the area were thoroughy checked.
Rajini, in his first public activity after confirming his entry into politics, on Wednesday visited Tuticorin and met the victims of the police firing and also announced solatium to the families of the deceased and injured.
Echoing the state government’s view that the protest turned violent after police were attacked by anti-socials and that he would not accept it, an angry Rajinikanth said Tamil Nadu would turn into a graveyard if people continue to protest for everything.
