Seven killed in HP road accident
Shimla, Jun 1 : At least seven people were killed when a bus they were travelling in plunged into a gorge at Chhaila here on Friday morning.
A Shimla-bound Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus plunged into 250 metre deep gorge at 0830 hrs, resulting in on the spot death of four people, SP of Shimla OP Jamwal told UNI.
The injured were rushed to Theog civil hospital, from where critically injured were referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), he said.
The deceased were identified as driver Rajeev Kumar, Sunil Sharma, Mahinder Chauan, Rohani, Murtoo Devi, Sita Devi and Dyla Ram, all local residents.
Rescue operations were underway.
