Ganderbal: On 1ST JUNE 2018 ,the father of the deceased namely Gh Ahmad khanday s/o Late Ab.Rehman khanday R/O New colony shalabaugh approached the PS kherbawani with a written application that his son Namely Mohd Yousuf khanday s/o Gh ahmad khanday R/o new colony shalabugh aged about 43 years is missing since 31/05/2018.
In this regard a missing report was filed in Ps kheerbawani and search was started.
On 02/06/2018 this police station received information that a dead body is laying in the open fields of adjoining areas of village chundina and shalabugh.
A special team was established by the SSP Ganderbal shri Fayaz Ahmad Lone JKPS under the supervision of Dysp HDQRs Ganderbal Shri Ashaq Hussain JKPS.A Police party headed by SHO kheerbawani was deputed to the spot and the dead body was recovered.The dead body was identified by the family members of the missing person..
After completion of medico legal formalities the dead body was handed over to the legal heirs of the deceased person.
In this regard a case FIR NO.33/2018 U/S 364/302 RPC OF PS KHEERBAWANI dated 02/06/2018 was registered and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation questioning of suspects was carried out in ps kheerbawani.During questioning one suspect namely MOHD SHAFI MAGAREY S/O MOHD SIDEEQ MAGAREY R/O CHUNDINA confessed his crime and revealed a shocking murder mystery which was further corroborated by the technical team of the District.
The accused person had a financial dispute with the deceased person. The accused person had borrowed Rs. 80,000 from the deceased person with a promise of paying him back within three months,but has failed to pay him back.
The accused person has the information that Mohd yousuf khanday s/o Gh ahmad khanday R/o New colony shalabugh is visiting the j and k bank branch chundina on 31/05/2018.The accused person with a criminal intent has asked the deceased person telephonically to meet him at a predefined location in order to get his money Rs. 80,000 back.The duo has met at the predefined location. The accused person has handed over his check book to the deceased person and has asked the deceased person to write a check on behalf of the accused person as the accused person is illiterate.
The moment deceased person has bowed down to write the check for himself,the accused person has hit his hind brain portion with a large stone,which was already kept there by the accused person.
Mohd Yousuf khanday s/o Gh ahmad khanday R/O New colony shalabugh got unconscious.The accused person there after had hit him several times on the head ,neck and chest.
The accused person after getting the confirmation about the death of the deceased person, has took away the following items from the possession of the deceased and has fled from the crime scene.

PAN CARD.
The accused person has then boarded a vehicle in Towheed chowk Ganderbal for Lal chowk Srinagar.After reaching LAL Chowk ,the accused person has boarded another vehicle for Pulwama.Where he has abandoned the mobile phone of the deceased in order to mislead the investigation agencies.
